FHA Home Loan Costs Go Up

FHA Mortgage insurance rates have just been raised by FHA.  The up front premium and the monthly mortgage insurance fee have both been raised, making FHA slightly more expensive now.  On a $160,000 home, the changes equal about $20/month extra.  Not too much, but a little.  FHA is still one of the most popular loan programs on the market for several reasons.
1. Low down payment of only 3.5%
2. Low interest rates
3. Flexible credit guidelines
4. Seller can up to 6% of the sales price towards buyers closing costs
5. Gift money for the down payment is allowable
6. Parents, close relatives can help with qualifying
7. Can use FHA to purchase 1, 2, 3 and 4 unit properties
FHA for home buyers... a very good mortgage program with some very strong features.  For more information on this, call us at 717-431-9299.

VA Mortgages

Home Mortgages for Veterans in Lancaster County and surrounding areas just became easier and less expensive.  Two full days of training on how to best serve Home-Buyers that are Veterans has helped our branch to better understand the wants/needs of this group of people.  The VA mortgage is one of the best mortgage products on the market, yet many lenders can't/don't want to do them for many reasons.  Not FAIRWAY PA, we enjoy helping those that have served our Country.  Reduced fees and a streamlined process make it easier for Veterans at FAIRWAY PA to buy a home.  Call us at 717-431-9299.

May 2 - The Truth About Reverse Mortgages
Our very own Reverse Mortgage Specialist, Dennis Cronin, is teaching a small 'lunch and learn' at the Apple Tree on Centerville Rd. Reverse Mortgages aren't right for everybody, and there is a lot of fear, and even misinformation out there on the subject. This class is aimed at senior home owners who want to learn the facts. Seating is limited, so advanced registration is necessary. Register online at or by calling Dennis at 717-431-9299 x107.
